This is how the Alaska Bot works; First, I search my database for Premium Keywords. Alaska Bot clients rent premium keywords. When Premiums are found, that clients business is always listed first. You can rest assured that these clients are serious about providing services to Alaska Bot users who have searched for their keyword. (I am friends with hundreds of my clients and let me tell you this; the people of Alaska work exceptionally hard to insure that your choice to come to Alaska is the best ever! Alaskans are GREAT!) Second, I search my database to see if the keyword is the name of a place.
When I recognize that it is a city I gather, and cache for display, all
the businesses that are in that city. Fourth, I look at fields of keywords, placed by Alaska Bot registrants, in order of importance. (A business who lists, for example, "fishing" as their most important keyword, will display on the results page ahead of a business who lists "fishing" as their second most important word, and so on, when "fishing" is the word searched for.) These businesses are placed in the cache for display. Fifth, I search to see if the keywords are in the registrants site description. Finally, I sort the cache for display on a Results page. The order in which businesses are displayed on are as follows: First: Premium keyword clients, (Should a client be renting a keyword, his business will always display first, and in it's own highlighted table cell at the top of the results page.) Second: If the keyword is a city name, then all Alaska Bot registrants who are located in that city (or operate from that city and have chose to use its name as one of their keywords) will display, Platinum first, then Gold, then Silver. The search will truncate, end, and display for that keyword. Third: Platinum and Gold clients, who have chosen that keyword as one for their business, will list in the order of importance, chosen by the client, as explained in my fourth task. Fourth: Sites not yet found but having the keywords in their description are listed. Last: All Silver registrants who have chosen that keyword to represent them, are displayed in order of importance. Note: All ties are determined by "time relevancy", like in Alta Vista, first come first served. So hurry up and get your friends in Alaska to submit their site to the Alaska Bot! Every business in Alaska Bot is a 'Registrant" but many are also clients who have made a nominal investment to help me offset the cost of programming, design and marketing. These are Platinum (listings are always displayed in bold, 25 word descriptions and up to 20 keywords), Gold (20 word descriptions and up to 17 keywords) and Silver (free listings with only five keywords). Platinum and Gold clients will always list on Results pages ahead of Silvers. Other factors determine who lists first between Platinum and Gold clients. See Memberships for more details. I hope you enjoy your time with the Alaska Bot and find just what you are seeking. See you in the Last Frontier, |
